The Junior High One Act Play is not over! Monday afternoon at 6:00 PM, the junior high will be performing their district play, Nasty Things, Murders, a play for women by, Arthur Lovegrove.
The students that will be performing is eighth-grader Bela Oldham as Mary, Seventh graders Jordan Miller as Ethel and Isabel Guillory as Louise then sixth graders Fabiola Urias as Madge and Claudia Figueroa.
Students helping in the background consist of stage manager Mickey Siddiq, controlling the lights, Erick Ramirez, music and sound, Darren Baeza, and backstage crew Eduardo Ramirez. The director of the play and presented this information is Ms. Karen Brownfield.
Since the students went to district in Rankin and it is many miles away, most parents were not able to make it and see their children perform on stage. Monday night will be a parents-public performance.
Monday night will not only consist of the Junior High One Act Play performance, but the library will be holding a family night book fair starting at 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM.
This year the book fair will begin on Monday, February 12 and will end on the 15th. The theme this year is "Paws for Reading". Valerie Garcia created flyers and wishlist for the student to take home.
To help the teachers to provide more books to the classrooms, a teachers wishlist was created. The way it works is that a teacher creates a wishlist of books that they would like in their classrooms. The wishlist will be hanging for the parents to view and purchase them if they desire to.
A letter was sent home, made by Librarian Valerie Garcia and Director Karen Brownfield. The letter provided information about the Dessert Theatre and the Family Night Book Fair.
The Dessert Theatre is for the students to perform for the parent/community and will be a fundraiser for the Student Council.
The Student Council is preparing a trip at the end of the year and providing a fundraiser for them in hopes that the community will help out.
Come out and watch the Junior High One Act Play perform for their last time this year. Also, check out the Book Fair on the way.
