Well, they did it again. The Valentine Lady Pirates hosted the Lady Eagles from Sanderson on Tuesday, November 14th and defeated the visitors by a score of 57 to 31. All six Lady Pirates scored in the game as well as playing great defense throughout the game.

Jessie Garcia led all scorers with her 24 points many of which came on fast break layups. Freshman, Jaymie Sanchez had 12 points. Evan Hall added 8 followed by Francis Sanchez with her 6. Samantha Kuhlman scored four and Lizzy Rey had three points.

The win brings the Lady Pirates record to 4-0. This is the first year in six years that the Pirates have fielded a high school girl's team. The last time the high school girls played was two years ago when Jessie Garcia played on the co-ed team that competed in the district against boy's teams. Even though most of the girls have limited experience, they have gelled together and are playing extremely well as a team.
