My First/Second grade class is currently studying about Dia de Los Muertos in Social Studies. We read the children's book, The Spirit of Tio Fernando, El espiritu de tio Fernando, which is written in Spanish and English. It relates a day in the life of Fernando and how his family prepares to celebrate el Dia de Los Muertos.

For science class, Mrs. Rangel's class became scientists for a couple of days. The class consists Evelyn Corral, Tristen Fowlkes, Romeo Garcia, Arturo Gutierrez, Lacey Klippstein, Argiel Martinez Jr., Luis Osorio Jr., Abigail Sanders, and Garry Webb.  READ MORE

Valentine School's fifth and sixth grade classes have gotten off to a good start for the new school year. They switch classes for Social Studies, with Coach Porras, and PE, with Coach Porras and Coach Flippen, then spend the rest of their school day in Mrs. Baker's room.   READ MORE

Another hundred days of school has passed. On Monday February 1st 2016, Mrs. Kerly's class celebrated the hundredth day of school. Mrs. Kerly said that they did a lot of things to celebrate. Mrs. Kerly said that the kids loved the hundredth day of school.  READ MORE

Chief William Hoff informed Angeni Kemp November being Native American Heritage month. November is Native American Heritage Month, or as it is commonly refereed to, American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month. On Wednesday, October 7, the students in grades 3-6 traveled to the Kids, Kows, & More exhibition at the Sul Ross S.A.L.E. arena with Coach Bea and I. We also visited the Museum of the Big Bend. We left immediately after breakfast and returned at 2:55. Thirteen students went on the field trip.  READ MORE
